PREREQUISITE:Intro to Industrial Sewing (Skill 1) and any second SW class required, Skill 2 is recommended. (A minimum of 2 class with SW before attending this class.)
LEVEL: Intermediate to Advanced
MINIMUM AGE: 16
This 5 Hour class is designed to give students an introduction to the basics of garments alterations. This class is a next step after taking Skills 1 Sewing Introduction Class and second Stitchworks Class, ideally Garments Finishing Techniques.
Students will have the opportunity to learn the about the basic principles and techniques needed for the alteration of garments. This class will touch on a variety hemming techniques as well methods of resizing garments. It will also give an introduction to fitting and taking of/interpreting measurements in order to achieve a better garment fit.
FABRIC AND SUPPLIES: Students are required to bring in a pair of jeans and a woman’s button up dress skirt (not silky).
All other materials and tools provided by Stitchworks.
